This is awesome! I am trying to pull together a few last minute Christmas gifts and this will be perfect...Thanks!

Expat Mom

I'm seriously considering making one of these (but in road format) for my boys. Maybe one for each even.

I love it, thanks so much for the fabulous tutorial, thinking of converting the idea into a replica of our own wee farm on a mat for my wee girl when she's bigger...she's 2 months old, but lets face it, by the time I get it made she'll be big enough to play with it.... lol

Andrea

This is a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing!

I use the same method you do for interfacing with one exception...I put a piece of scrap printer paper between the fabric & the ironing board. That way nothing gets on the ironing board & I can just toss the paper into the recycling bin.

I am totally making some of these placemats for Christmas! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome idea!

Emily

I love this idea. What a great project for those hard to shop for boys who have everything. Thank you!

Silvia

Very original! Thank you!!

Seriously? Now THIS is a tutorial I can work with! My scrap bin(s) thank you!!!! I think I just found tomorrows project, because I have so many ugly scraps...you have no idea. Yay!

kate

Good lord, you're lovable.

I love this! And I think I have that same blue fabric and used for the same purpose: a "pond" for a dinosaur playmat. Great idea to make it double-sided as well.

You are brilliant and funny and creative and surely a wonderful wife and mama. Thanks for sharing...perhaps my children will be blessed by this someday.

I am an occasional seamstress...so not much of a scrap pile yet. But I love your free spirit and the creativity that oozes out of you.

thanks for sharing with me.
